Reducing Signal Interference for a LoRa Gateway
If the gateway is missing lots of LoRa messages, it could be due to strong radio interference from other telecomunications equipment mounted close to the gateway. Relocating the gateway as far as you can from the interference source would be the best option. The power of interference goes down quadratically with the distance, so sometimes even a few yards might help. Also, the interference could be going through the power lines, so try adding a filter on at the PoE injector power input. Another possibility might be a problem with PoE injector being defective or under adverse conditions. The PoE injectors that are bundled are not weatherproof, so if it gets overheated due to direct sun during the day, it might be quitting. This PoE needs to be sheltered to protect it from elements. The same could happen to the Ethernet cable if it’s not industrial grade.

To lessen the severity of the issue, you can enable the persistent message mode on the compatible LSMP devices (devices with ID larger than 220000). If they are not able to temporarily send data to the server, they will log the messages in the internal memory and send them the next time there is good connectivity.
