Setting Up a MeterGroup Atmos 41 Weather Station with Your Zenseio Device

Setting Up a MeterGroup Atmos 41 Weather Station with Your Zenseio Device

If you're interested in setting up a full-featured weather station with your device, the Meter Group ATMOS-41 weather station is ideal. Meter Group ATMOS stations (ATMOS-41, ATMOS-22, and ATMOS-14) work out of the box with Zenseio telemetry, so setup is simple and only requires a few special considerations.

Power Supply:

Because fully featured weather stations (ATMOS-41 and ATMOS-22, but not ATMOS-14) require continuous power, using rechargeable batteries is essential, as the default non-rechargeable battery included with LSMP/CSMP devices are not designed to provide power at all times.

Zenseio has developed a compact Solar Charging Kit that fits Zenseio LSMP/CSMP devices with minimal setup, which pairs excellently with an ATMOS weather station. Another option is to use external power, as long as you can supply regulated 3.5 to 5VDC and observe the power connection polarity on the .
If you'd like to fit your device with a rechargeable battery before setting up your weather station, please Contact Zenseio to order the solar charging kit or the external voltage regulator kit.

VAUX:

Another essential consideration when setting up a continuously powered weather station when running it with a Zenseio device, is that VAUX is shared with any other sensor connected to the same device. As VAUX output would be continuously enabled with an ATMOS weather station, using other sensors that require VAUX on the same device will also be continuously powered up. This may have unintended consequences is excessive battery drain or potential interference with those other sensors' operation. However, any additional sensors that do not require VAUX can be connected to the three available GPI ports, including dry-contact, pulse counting, or temperature sensor modes, or any other GPI standard sensor that doesn't use VAUX.
