RAK 7258/7268 Indoor LoRaWAN Gateway Firmware Upgrade

AlertALERT: This firmware (WisGateOS) is applicable only to non-V2 version of RAK7268 or RAK7258. RAK7268 V2 has different firmware WisGateOS 2. For RAK7268 V2 firmware update, see here: https://support.zenseio.com/portal/en/kb/articles/rak-7268v2-indoor-lorawan-gateway-firmware-upgrade

To update the RAK gateway firmware follow these instructions:
  1. Find the IP address of that gateway on your network. You can log into your router to see the assigned IP address to RAK
  2. Download this firmware binary to a folder on your PC: https://downloads.rakwireless.com/LoRa/WisGateOS/WisGateOS_Latest_Firmware.zip
  3. Unzip this file
  4. Log into RAK gateway at the IP address. The default credentials are: username: root, password: root. It will first come up with a security screen "Your connection is not private". Click "Advanced" and "proceed"
  5. In the left pane, click System->Backup/Flash Firmware, then "Choose File" - the one you unzipped earlier, and press "Flash Image...". IMPORTANT: select "Keep settings after updating", if such option is available, and press "Update".
  6. That's it.
