Here are two useful, self-service features on the "Device Details" dashboard. Without needing to email Zenseio support and wait for it - you can:
Check the Device Status and Activate It.
The activation status now appears at the very top of Device Details dashboard.
If device is inactive, you will be able to activate it by just pressing the red Activate button. Scroll down to Current Configuration Settings section, where you will see this panel. Just press the button and after a few seconds, you will get a confirmation dialog. You can now turn on the device and it should start connecting.
If the device is already activated, the panel will look something like this.
A few notes:
- Activation starts the data-plan subscription clock. This is irreversible, so press Activate only when you’re ready.
- CSMP (LTE) devices: The SIM that shipped with the device will be activated. If you need a different SIM type (e.g., Verizon-compatible), email support@zenseio.com for a custom setup.
- Subscriptions remain annual, but the first season’s fee is prorated for partial-season activations so every device lines up on the same renewal cadence.
- SIM Consistency. Mixing SIMs across CSMP units may cause billing and activation discrepancies - stick with the original SIM unless arranged with us otherwise.
Change a Single Device’s Data Plan.
You can now change the default data plan with this pane, next to the activation pane under Current Configuration Settings.
Click on True next to Change Data Plan?. The Desired Data Plan multi-selection option will show up.
Then, select the required "transmit interval"/"sensor read interval". For example, if you want to read and transmit sensor data at 15 minutes intervals, select 15M/15M option, and click on Submit button.
After you confirm the changes, a downlink command will be sent to the device the next time it connects to our servers. Once the new data plan has been accepted by device, you can confirm this in the Actual Data Plan window.
- Factory default data plan: 1H/1H (hourly reads & transmits).
- Pricing varies: Fees depend on interval length and SIM type - longer intervals cost less.
- Prorated mid-season: If you run 15M/15M for three months, then switch back to 1H/1H, we’ll calculate the difference and apply it on your next subscription invoice.
- Persistent enforcement: Once Change Data Plan? is set to True, the plan remains active through hard resets until you explicitly choose a different plan.
- Firmware support: Older LSMP firmware versions do not support remote data-plan changes. In that case you’ll see an error message -please update your device’s firmware to the latest release.
