How to Connect a Temperature Sensor to a LSMP or CSMP Device

Temperature Sensor (Thermistor) Installation

Currently, only thermistors sold by Zenseio are supported. The following installation is for this thermistor only.

  1. Select “Thermistor (1-Wire)” mode in the Zenseio mobile phone configuration app (ZenConfig User Manual).

  2. Depending on the version of the temperature sensor you have:

    1. If black and white wires

      1. Insert white wire into the GPI3 header connector.

      2. Insert black wire into the GND header connector next to GPI3.

    2. If yellow and joined red/black wires

      1. Insert yellow wire into the GPI3 header connector.

      2. Insert joined red/black wires into the GND header connector next to GPI3.

    3. If yellow, red and blue wires

      1. Insert yellow wire into the GPI3 header connector.

      2. Twist red and blue wires together and insert them into the GND header connector next to GPI3.

  3. GPI3 input has to be configured to the thermistor mode to read this sensor. You can use ZenConfig mobile app to do this.

Temperature sensor can be configured to generate low-latency message alerts if outside the defined input range. See this article for more details.

To learn more, see the LSMP Device User Manual or the CSMP Device User Manual.
For instructions on how to configure the device in ZenConfig mobile app to read the temperature sensor, see ZenConfig User Manual.
