Configuring Seametrics AG3000 Flow Meter for Zenseio Devices

Configuring Seametrics AG3000 Flow Meter for Zenseio Devices

Wiring:

For AG3000 flow meter with pulse output, connect as follows:

Green (P3) Pulse + connect to GPI* (any GPI)

White (P4) Pulse - connect to GND (next to GPI)

Do not connect Red (P1) DC+ or Black (P2) DC- to Zenseio box. AG3000 is either self-powered from internal battery or externally powered from another source via Red (P1) DC+ or Black (P2) DC-.

Setting Pulse Output Scaling on the Seametrics AG3000 Flow Meter

You should set pulse output scaling (Set P menu on the AG3000) so that the maximum number of output pulses per minute does not exceed 30,000 (but 600 or less is recommended). So, for example, if you expect the maximum flow rate to be 1000 gallons/minute, set “Set P” to a value between 2 and 200 gallons, which will result in pulse output of 500 to 5 pulses/minute, respectively. The higher “Set P” value the longer the battery life on Zenseio devices (and possibly on AG3000), but also the lower the resolution of the flow measurements.
